But not today, my man- good stuff!<br /><br />The Petraeus cartoon reminds me of how chicken-shit our political leaders can be. In 1992 I had the opportunity to meet with then Army Chief of Staff GEN Eric Shinseki. I was an E-5 Sergeant and he and Rep John &quot;Skumbag&quot; Murtha were visiting the installation I was stationed at. GEN Skinseki and Skumbag entered the room, filled with about 8-10 soldiers and 30 or so civilians. Skumbag ignored all but the highest ranking people in the room, not even taking the time to say hi to a single enlisted soldier in the 20 minutes he was there. GEN Shinseki, on the other hand, ignored the civilians and not only took the time to say hello to every soldier, but to chat with us and thank us for our service.<br /><br />Imagine my disappointment when the Bush administration forced him to retire because he dared speak the truth to Congress, testifying that it would take 100&#39;s of thousands of US troops to stabilize Iraq after we overthrew Saddam Hussein. The Petraeus cartoon reminded me of that...<br /><br />At least now he&#39;s Secretary of Veterans Affairs (a role he&#39;s well suited for, being a retired, AND DISABLED, General.
