Owning a credit card or two is necessary early on to build your credit for things like loans, cell phone contracts, etc. Owning a department store credit card in a lot of places will get you special savings (25% for example) at certain times. Also, these Visa/MC cards that earn points/flyer miles are very handy. This is all dependant on how you USE your CC. If you're smart, don't use it to spend beyond your means, and always pay off what you charged at the end of each month, then a CC is a smart choice. <BR/><BR/>101.
